This
wild and woolly landscape will delight, disparage,
or horrify even the hardiest of souls. Bottom line:
unless you live there, Northern California is most
likely one of those places you'd really like to visit
someday, but you never quite muster the time or
sheer intrepidity to launch that expedition. For
good reason.
If the very real prospect of becoming a great white
shark's evening meal fails to deter you, the adverse
weather patterns with their horizontal rain storms
and raw Jurassic swells might. In fact, it takes a
veritable mini-miracle for tide, wind, and swell to
coalesce into surfable conditions on this largely
'lost' coast.
